Quality and Safety

Carolinas Specialty Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission, the most nationally recognized healthcare standards-setting accrediting institutions. The Joint Commission requires key quality data to be reported monthly and posted for each accredited facility on the Joint Commission website.

Quality measurements

Carolinas Specialty Hospital tracks data in multiple areas each month. Some of the areas tracked are Infection Control, Patient Safety, Medication Administration, and Wound Improvements. The data is not only reported to the hospital leadership, but is also benchmarked against national industry standards.

Patient satisfaction

Carolinas Specialty Hospital contracts with Thompson Reuters, a national leader in healthcare research, to measure our patient satisfaction. At discharge, each patient is provided with a hospital survey. The surveys are collected by Thompson Reuters and the results are reported back to our hospital. Patients are asked to provide this feedback on the care they received during their hospital stay and their preparation for discharge. Each month the hospital reviews the survey results and patient comments for opportunities to improve the quality of care and our commitment to patient safety.
