CAROLINAS SPECIALTY HOSPITAL NAMES JEFF LYNCH, DIRECTOR OF PROVIDER RELATIONS.
3/18/2009 12:15:11 PM

(CHARLOTTE, N.C. – March 9, 2009)  Carolinas Specialty Hospital (CSH) has named Jeff Lynch the Director of Provider Relations for the 40-bed Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Hospital located within Carolina Medical Center - Mercy Hospital.  Jeff comes to CSH with 10 years experience in healthcare marketing and sales.
"Jeff and his team will work to educate the community with a clear understanding of what Carolinas Specialty Hospital does that's different from the "traditional" hospital.  We are the best kept secret in the healthcare industry in Charlotte!" states Susan Davis, CEO.  "Carolinas Specialty Hospital is continually working to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our community with up-to-date programs and services."

An LTAC is a Long Term Acute Care hospital designed for patients that are acutely ill and require a physician's care each day, but are medically complex and not going to be ready for discharge in a short period of time.  Most LTAC patients are transferred from a traditional hospital once they are medically stable, but they can also be admitted from a skilled nursing facility, home, or a physician's office.  Just as with any hospital admission, the patient must meet criteria and have admission orders from their physician.  Our goal for each of our patients is to return them to their highest level of function and wellness.

Carolinas Specialty Hospital is a not-for-profit LTAC managed by Acuity Healthcare.  Acuity is a privately-owned Long Term Acute Care hospital company, founded in 2001.  The Acuity management team brings over 60 years of combined LTAC experience to Carolinas Specialty Hospital.  Carolinas Specialty Hospital has distinguished itself through delivery of specialized LTAC hospital services, meeting needs of patients throughout the Carolinas.
